Matthew Perry was a famous American-Canadian actor and producer best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the popular 1990s NBC television series “Friends”. He was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award and a People’s Choice Award for his outstanding performance in the show.

Matthew Perry, who started his career as a talented tennis player, joined television in 1987 and played his first leading role in the television series “Boys Will Be Boys”.

Apart from ‘Friends’, Matthew starred in many famous television shows including “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” (2006-2007), “Mr. Sunshine” (2011), “The Odd Couple” (2015-2017).

Matthew Langford Perry was born on August 19, 1969 in Williamstown, Massachusetts, United States of America. He had Canadian-American citizenship.

His father is John Bennett Perry, an American actor and former model, and his mother, Susan Marie Morrison (née Langford), is a Canadian journalist who served as press secretary for former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.

When Perry was 6 months old, his parents divorced, due to which his mother re-married Keith Morrison, a broadcast journalist from Ottawa. During this time, he was brought up by his mother and stepfather.

Perry’s early education took place in Ottawa, Canada. He did his further education from Rockcliffe Park Public School and Ashbury College. He studied with current Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during his schooling. He was also a talented tennis player during his college days.

When Perry was 15, he moved from Ottawa to Los Angeles to live with his father, where he became interested in acting. He also made a guest appearance in an episode of his father’s police show 240-Robert in 1979.
