Kiara was born as Alia Advani on 31 July 1992 in Mumbai to Jagdeep Advani (businessman) and Genevieve Jaffrey (teacher).

She kept her name Kiara Advani on the advice of Bollywood’s brother-in-law Salman Khan because she wanted to become an actress in the film industry. She also has a brother whose name is Mishaal Advani.
