Navalny was a famous leader of the Russia of the Future Party. He was considered one of the most vocal critics of President Vladimir Putin.
He was born on 4 June 1976 in Butyn, near Moscow, to Anatoly Navalny and Lyudmila Navalny. His parents owned a basket-weaving factory which they had been running since 1994 in the village of Kobyakov, Vologda Oblast.
Navalny graduated from Kalininets secondary school in 1993. He then obtained a bachelor’s degree in law from the People’s Friendship University of Russia in 1998.
Then he obtained an economics degree from the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation in 2001. She also received a scholarship to the Yale World Fellowship program at Yale University in 2010.

Navalny started his career as a lawyer in 1998. He worked as a lawyer for various Russian companies. He was a registered lawyer and a member of the Advocates Chamber (Bar Association) of Kirov Oblast.
In 2010, due to his move to Moscow, he ceased to be a member of the Advocates Chamber of Kirov Oblast and became a member of the Advocates Chamber of Moscow.

Reason for Alexei Navalny going to jail

He was poisoned with Novichok nerve agent in Siberia in August 2020, for which he was taken to Berlin for treatment and after about a month of treatment, he survived and was discharged. He was arrested again for violating parole conditions upon his return to Russia in January 2021.
Navalny was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison in 2021 for violating the terms of his parole in a 2014 fraud case.
In March 2022, he was sentenced to an additional nine years in prison on charges of embezzlement and contempt of court. However, he said that the charges were politically motivated and that he was being punished for opposing the Russian government.
In August 2023, he received an additional prison sentence of 19 years for alleged extremist activity.
