Suella Braverman is a British politician and barrister, who served as Home Secretary from 6 September 2022. She dismissed from her post by PM Rishi Sunak on 13 November.
Braverman was started her career as a barrister in 2006 from the United Kingdom. After that she joined the Conservative Party. She served as a councillor for Hammersmith and Fulham from 2013 to 2015.
In 2015, Braverman was elected as the Conservative MP for Fareham in Hampshire. She has since held a number of ministerial posts, including Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union (2018), Attorney General for England (2020–2021) and Attorney General for Wales (2021–2022).
Braverman served as Incorporated Council of Law Reporting Director for England and Wales from 2020 to 2022.

Early Life
Suella Braverman’s real name is Sue-Ellen Cassiana Braverman Casey. She was born on 3 April 1980 in Harrow, Greater London, England, into an Indian-origin family that immigrated to Britain from Mauritius and Kenya in the 1960s. She is the niece of Mahen Kundasamy, former High Commissioner of Mauritius to the United Kingdom.
Her father, Christy Fernandes, worked for a housing association, and his mother Uma Fernandes was a nurse and councillor in Brent. She was the Conservative candidate for general election in Tottenham in 2001.
Braverman was raised in the London suburb of Wembley. Her primary education was from Uxendon Manor Primary School and Heathfield School.
Braverman graduated from Queens College, Cambridge University with a law degree in 2002. During her Cambridge studies she was President of the Cambridge University Conservative Association.
In 2004, Braverman earned a master’s degree in European and French Law (LLM) at the Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Paris. She then passed the New York Bar Examination and was licensed as an attorney in New York State.
Career
Suella Braverman started her career as a commercial barrister in 2006 after passing the New York Bar Exam. After that she joined the Conservative Party. She served as a councilor for Hammersmith and Fulham from 2013 to 2015.
In 2015, Braverman was elected as the Conservative MP for Fareham in Hampshire. In this election, she won a majority of 22,262 votes over Labor Party candidate Shaun Woodward.
Braverman served as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Exiting the European Union from 2018 to 2019.
Attorney General (2020-2022)
In 2020, Braverman was appointed to the post of Attorney General of England for the first time, where she remained until 2021. After this she was again appointed Attorney General for Wales where she held this post till September 2021.
Home Secretary Tenure (2022-2023)
Suella Braverman was appointed Home Secretary in the Truss ministry on 6 September 2022. But she resigned from his post in October 2022 in protest against Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s handling of the Partygate scandal.
Braverman was re-appointed as Home Secretary by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak following the formation of the Sunak Ministry on 25 October 2023. Since then she has been occupying this post. But on 13 November 2023, she was again dismissed from the post by PM Rishi Sunak.
